Safar Holidays opened in Surat in 1995, booking air tickets out of a small office on Ring Road. Three decades later we plan complete holidays across 56 countries — and the office is still on Ring Road.
What has not changed is how we work. Every itinerary is written out in full before you pay anything, so you know which hotel, which night, which city. Most of ours are written in Gujarati, because most of our travellers would rather read it that way and show it to their parents.
We handle visa paperwork in-house and check every document before it is submitted — the part most people get wrong, and the part that ruins trips.
We are not the cheapest and we do not try to be. What we sell is that nothing goes wrong while you are 4,000 kilometres from home, and that if it does, someone in Surat picks up the phone.
